Preparations hot up for this years’ Eastbourne Carnival as we get ready to Celebrate the World!
Eastbourne Carnival is now less than 2 months so preparations are hotting up for this years big parade!
Over 50 local organisations, bands and community groups have already signed up to take part – so this could be our biggest parade in recent years!
Carnival Organisers have this year successfully been awarded funding from the Arts Council England and from Chalk Cliff Trust, alongside continued support from Lightning Fibre.
This means – more workshops than ever before to support local bands and community groups get ready for Carnival.
Rob Reaks, chief commercial officer at Lighting Fibre, commented, “We’re happy to provide funding for these workshops, and this marks our fourth consecutive year as a major sponsor of the carnival. It’s great to see how it’s grown over the years into arguably one of the best carnivals in the country.”
The first workshops took place in March and covered prop making, carnival masterclass and sewing.
The Lightning Fibre Eastbourne Carnival Creative workshops which are coming up in April and May include:
And, there is the opportunity to request an outreach workshop for groups that cannot make the workshops. Contact the Carnival organisers by email or the contact form on the website.
There’s still time to get involved!
Entrants have until 9th May to sign up
We need volunteers to Marshal or do Bucket Collections on the day.
